Sheila's anecdotes and tales are not in general a re-hash of those you've heard Fred himself tell at events and speaking engagements, but rather an intriguing and funny perspective observed from close quarters of life with and the antics of the world's most loved steeplejack and true British eccentric. How many husbands will give you a cast iron man hole as a birthday present, and promise you a weigh bridge next year? Or expect you to climb a 250ft chimney on a bank holiday, or treat you to a wild honeymoon on a steamroller all the way to Wigan Pier? How many wives can tell you how their husband managed to build a steam engine in the back garden from scratch incorporating cow urine in the final product?
